BIBIMBAP (비빔밥)

bibimbap

Dolsot Bibimbap

Bibimbap is one of my favorite Korean dishes.  Bibimbap literally means “Mixed Rice“.  Bibimbap is served as a bowl of warm white rice topped with sautéed and seasoned vegetables and gochujang (chili pepper paste). A raw or fried egg and sliced meat (usually beef) are common additions. The ingredients are stirred together thoroughly just before eating. It can be served either cold or hot. I like it hot. 🙂

Somang Kim Chi Restaurant is the only restaurant in Davao where I eat Bibimbap.  It is located infront of Victoria Plaza at JP Laurel Avenue, Davao City.  It’s not that I think they have the best Bibimbap but that’s the nearest Korean Restaurant from my office.  hahaha

Anyway, their Bibimbap costs 100 pesos and Dolsot Bibimbap is 120 pesos.  The difference between ordinary Bibimbap and Dolsot Bibimbap are:

Dolsot Bibimbap uses Hot Pot       Ordinary Bibimbap just uses an ordinary Bowl

Dolsot uses Raw Egg                          Ordinary Bibimbap uses Fried Egg

And the best things about eating in a Korean Restaurant are the Side Dishes. Yes! The side dishes will complete your Korean experience.
