As someone who loves to eat and explores places to eat, I got excited when I found out about Dubai Food Festival 2015. I first found out about it through READ ME magazine.
“Dubai Food Festival is a citywide culinary celebration that showcases the Emirate’s emergence as a gastronomy destination through a 23-day programme of food-related consumer and trade events, activities, promotions and appearances by food celebrities. The Festival promotes the diversity, creativity and multicultural nature of Dubai’s culinary offering – from five-star gourmet dining to everyday restaurants and cafés for all budgets; international brands to a burgeoning scene of home-grown concepts influenced by traditional Emirati cuisine and the flavours of the 200 nationalities that live in Dubai.
The four key themes of this year’s Festival are as follows:
- Emirati Cuisine, focusing on authentic, local cuisine and cultural experiences that showcase both traditional as well as up-and-coming Emirati concepts and chefs
- Home-grown, celebrating the emerging scene of independent restaurants and concepts influenced by the diversity of the 200 nationalities in Dubai
- Multicultural Dining & Street Food, showcasing the range of everyday, street-side restaurant and café experiences in Dubai, offering great value and authentic flavours, and catering to communities across the city
- International Chefs and Restaurants, highlighting the influx of restaurants conceived or owned by world leading and Michelin-starred chefs who are increasingly choosing Dubai.
Dubai Food Festival is organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and is part of a broader strategy to develop a year-round programme of citywide festivals that acts as a major contributor to the growth of the tourism and retail sectors.”
Part of Dubai Food Festival 2015 is the FOOD TRUCK CONVOY! This is what that got me excited coz’ the truck convoy will be at Media City which is near my workplace. They will be there every Wednesday starting today.
The food trucks include:
Since today is the first day of the Food Truck Convoy, I took the chance to be there earlier today. We went there during our lunchtime then we ordered gourmet sandwiches from Panifico.
Panifico’s Philly Cheese Steak
Panifico’s Bavarian Country Cheese-Dog
Panifico’s Lemonade with Mint
My favorite sandwich in Panifico is the Philly with Cheese Steak. However Bavarian hotdog is also good. The Bavarian Country Cheesedog is one of Panifico’s new gourmet hotdogs. I also love their version of lemonade with mint.
