Exploring Georgia in 3 Days

Georgia (Listeni/ˈɔːrə/Georgianსაქართველოtr. SakartveloIPA: [sɑkʰɑrtʰvɛlɔ]) is a country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Located at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe, it is bounded to the west by the Black Sea, to the north by Russia, to the south by Turkey and Armenia, and to the southeast by Azerbaijan. The capital and largest city is Tbilisi. Georgia covers a territory of 69,700 square kilometres (26,911 sq mi), and its 2015 population is about 3.75 million. Georgia is a unitarysemi-presidential republic, with the government elected through a representative democracy. (source: wikipedia)

For UAE residence VISA holder we can always go to Georgia without having to obtain a Georgian Tourist Visa.  It will be like going to Hongkong or Singapore (for Pinoys).  If you dont have an UAE residence visa, then you just have to pay for the tourist visa.  The tourism industry in Georgia is currently booming therefore obtaining a visa there would be very easy now.

I went to Georgia on 11 November with the purpose of relaxing and de-stressing. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Georgia but didn’t really have the chance to do a research about it.  Since I love travelling, I’ve been following certain facebook travel pages and pages offering different tours around the world.  One of these pages is the Kabayan in Tbilisi facebook page.

We were only planning to visit Georgia during the weekend that’s why I asked them if a tour is possible for those days.  Luckily, Kabayan in Tbilisi offers tours which will fit to your schedule.  Guess how much did they charge me for 3 days tour with hotel accommodation (with BB)?

Only USD160.  Yes!  That’s one hundred sixty US dollars…

We booked booked our tickets separately at flydubai and paid around 1,200 AED (roundtrip) with 20 kg baggage allowance.  Flydubai has two direct flights a week from Dubai to Tbilisi, Georgia.

When we arrived in Georgia, our contact person – Ms. Geraldine picked us up in the airport and brought us to the hotel.  We were able to check in at 4:00AM on 11 Nov (and checked out at 12:00PM on 13 November).  We had buffet breakfast, wifi access, airconditioned room with heater, hot & cold shower, free towels, slippers, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shoe shine, TV, cabinet with hangers and electric adaptor.  We stayed at London Palace Hotel which I recommend to those who just want to stay in a quiet place and rest.  The location is not in the city centre and there are no bars or tourist destinations nearby.  This is just the perfect place to rest after a very long day of roaming around the city.  One of the highlights of our stay at London Palace Hotel is their buffet breakfast.  If you arrived early (like what happened to us), they also provide complimentary early check in.  Buffet Breakfast will only cost you 7 gel (2.73 USD). And this is how their breakfast looks like:
