Two weeks ago I attended DBS Acquaintance Party 2014 and I met a lot of bloggers. We had a lot of activities and prizes. Luckily I won a gift certificate from Bucket Shrimps Davao. That’s why I decided to use this GC to celebrate my friends birthday. Although she paid the balance of our bill. 😉
The restaurant is located along F. Torres Street in Metrolifestyle Complex. The restaurant is easy to find because of its signage. If you can’t find it, go to Bo’s Coffee Shop coz’ it’s just beside it. lol
The interior of the restaurant is cool and i really like it. It’s relaxing and pleasant to the eyes. I also love the paintings. They show how life should be ~ full of fun.
Anyway, I was a bit disappointed when we got in, coz’ there was no one at the counter. We arrived at 5:45 in the evening and there was already a customer inside the restaurant but it seemed like the staff and crew were so busy doing something. In a business like restaurant, it is important to give customers a good impression. The best impression can be best shown by how you welcome your customers in your establishment. They failed to do it on that day. We waited for 3-4 minutes before someone noticed us and brought us to our table. The waiter was accommodating and kept on smiling which made everything okay. We ordered three main dishes, buttered chicken, shrimp sinigang and crispy pata kare-kare.
This order of buttered chicken is good for 2-3 persons. Surprisingly, it tasted good. We all love it. This is not your typical buttered chicken coz’ the taste comes from the chicken itself and not just the coating. If you love buttered chicken then you must try this. 😉
I love sinigang. That’s why we decided to try this dish. The soup was okay coz’ it was not too sour but I could still smell something ~ the smell of raw shrimp/seafood. It was cooked well, but there was somehow after taste and smell. I am not saying that it was awful, it was really okay but not my kind of dish. 😉
The crispy pata was good. Really good. It was indeed crispy and delicious. hahaha. The kare-kare sauce was also good but we were disappointed with the bagoong. It was just a normal saute’d bagoong. My mom and my bestfriend cook kare-kare and they also make their own bagoong and I think their bagoong is better. 😉 Bagoong should be the one that gives taste to the kare-kare that’s why it should be special. But overall, their Crispy Kare-kare was good. I will still recommend this dish. It’s also good for those who love Crispy Pata and Kare-Kare. It’s like buying two dishes in one. 😉
For our drinks we ordered, Camote Tops Juice, Buko Pandan Shake and Calamansi Juice. The jar for our drinks are really cute. We think they are old mayonnaise jars.
I ordered this and it was just okay. There was nothing special with this drink. If you love buko pandan, you might as well just try this. 😉
My friend said that she liked this. It was not too sweet nor too sour. It was perfect for her taste. 🙂
Since we didn’t want to order the same thing, my other friend decided to order this drink as per suggestion of the waiter. She loved it. She said it was delicious for a camote tops juice. To all health-conscious people who want to try something new, come and visit Bucket Shrimps and try this juice.
We Filipinos can’t live without rice and their unlimited rice offer is perfect for those people who love to eat rice.
To summarize, Bucket Shrimps Davao is still a good restaurant to visit. The price is affordable and the food is delicious. Our dining experience might not be perfect but it was still great. Bucket Shrimps Davao is one of Davao’s new restaurants and if you are already tired with the same boring restaurant that you always visit, check this restaurant out. You might be surprised with what they offer. 😀
