Weekly Photo Challenge: Abandoned

This is the house where I grew up.  I lived here for 16 years before moving to the city to study in college.  All the memories of my childhood are kept in this place.  But now, we have to ABANDON this house.  This house may have been standing for more than 50 years but we actually don’t own the land.  The land owner decided that it’s time they develop the area, forcing us and our neighbors to look for another place.  We now have a new house but nothing can replace a place called your first HOME.

    • We are lucky that finding a new place to build our new house was easy. I am sure we will be able to make new memories but I just can’t let go of the old memories we made with that house.😦

      Thanks for dropping by.🙂

  1. We “liked” the picture but your family having to move is more an “unlike”😉
Sad to have to abandon your childhood home and that the area will be developed – so does that mean even if you were to come back in the next few months, it may no longer be standing??😦

    • The house is still standing, i just don’t know as to when it will be demolished. We still have some few things there. 😉

Me and my childhood bestfriend were talking last Christmas, it will be hard for us to tell our children and grandchildren in the future stories of our childhood and where we lived.😦 sad.

      Thank you!😀

  2. I totally understand this as I am now fighting to keep the home where I raised my family. It’s hard to let go of a place that was filled with so much love.

    • Yeah. The oscar winning song fits perfectly in our situation now.. LET IT GO!😉

It is definitely hard but we have no choice. We just have to move on and live life. Be happy and be thankful that we still have our lives to live.😀
